A Great Day

I had a great time at church today. Setup got started a little late, but everything still went smoothly. Steve put together a terrific time of worship, and I had this sense of the nearly tangible presence of God's Spirit. I loved the passage from Philippians 3 that we studied together. God has been working in my heart and thoughts a lot as we make our way through Philippians, and today's message was really significant in my own journey. (As Churchill said, "Never give up!" *grin*) I enjoyed meeting a couple of new families who visited us for the first time today. The Church Family Meeting went pretty well, and I'm excited about God's leading to simplify our schedule and expand our leadership structure. (Boy, do we have a lot of work cut out for us in the next 4 weeks!) And we enjoyed a great lunch with the Simpsons afterwards before running a few successful errands. Our planned dessert guests had to take a last-minute raincheck (but we'll make it up on Tuesday), so our family enjoyed a movie together. All-in-all, it was a terrific day. As Margo shared with her parents on the phone, we're enjoying a really sweet season of life as God pours out blessings. Thanks, Father!

Great news, Scott! All I hear about what's going on at Hope is a tremendous encouragement and blessing! May God's grace and mercy continue to pour out on your church family and your immediate family as well. Your brothers and sisters at WBF are praying for you.
