Here is the next batch of psalms composed by the great folks at Hope as part of our "homework" assignment following last Sunday's look at true worship.
Oh, my child when will you ever learn?
To trust Me with all that's in your arms.
Your load is heavy,
I've come to make it light.
Please don't be afraid
I love you with all my might.
I'll prove to you over and over again
I can be trusted,
I'm not like any other you've known.
I want you to be free
from the load you carry around.
Delight in Me, as I delight in you.
Be free my child to be who
I want you to be.
Trust in me with all your might.
I will walk you through this life day and night.
Help you to make choices that are right.
I want you to see things through my eyes.
Trust in me child with all your might.
My words are a gift to you
till we meet again.
Devour them again and again.
May they reveal to you who I really am.
You can trust me child I really Am, who I say I Am!!!
Lord, may I not desire the things of this world,
but seek only You to fill me.
Daily You pour out blessings upon us,
yet we are blind in receiving.
Oh Lord, how we miss your incredible grace and mercy,
How we hide from your love.
Teach us, oh Lord, to walk in Your ways
Embolden our hearts to seek Your paths
May our every waking breath be one of prayer;
Satisfaction in You, Oh God;
Creator, Redeemer, Friend...
Let me not miss Your hold upon my life;
Nor fall prey to the thought that it is I who am strong, Lord.
May I always see Your hand in my success
And in my failures may I seek You to learn where I am wrong.
May my words and deeds bring glory to Your holy name...Selah
Fill me, sweet Lord, use me to thy service.
Oh Lord, my God, You are far too awesome for simple words
How could I begin to explain the magnitude of Your love?
How pure Your holiness, how deep Your faithfulness.
I am but a man servant, adoring his master
Seeking to honor You and reflect Your face
People around me are dying; crying out to You
but they know not where they cry
Break in me, Oh Lord, the worship of life
Rend my heart till it calls to You alone
Hold fast my mind, and
steady my thoughts upon You
That I might be transformed each day
Beginning in Your likeness...Selah
Oh, the joy is such that I cannot imagine!
The pleasure of serving You ~
How great and powerful Thy name!
Let not my love grow cold
When fighting battles of this world that pull me astray,
Remind me that You are with me, in You alone I fall
The most important victory You have won;
Your son, His sacrifice, our cross...Selah.
Rise up in me Your vision
That I might always walk in Your truth and love
Create in me a clean spirit and pure heart
May I never forsake you, Nay
May I magnify and reflect Your glory
Oh Lord, You are so awesome!
Words cannot do justice to all You are
Bless Your mighty name
May I live under the shadow of Your wing
Forever ...Selah
Clouds enshroud the mountains
Lightning pierces the darkness
A torrent pummels the earth
Are You there Lord?
I stand on Your promise
Evil men surround me
Life's burdens will to crush me
I stumble but arise
Are You there Lord?
I stand on Your promise
Beyond the unending night
The morning breaks anew
The storm now swept away
You are there Lord
I stand on Your promise
O Father! You are my Father!
You are LORD over all!
All of creation breathes and bends
in a harmonious symphony
only in obedience to Your command.
O God! You are my God!
Though trouble arises in my heart
I look to You and You
place a blanket over my woes
and snuff out
all my fears.
For You love me, Father!
You watch over me.
I will look to You, Father, for all my needs.
For You know my needs before they even enter my thoughts!
My heart begins to leak sadness
but You are there to catch the drips
and place Your healing hand upon me
and quiet my cries.
My mind begins to whirl in fear
and You hold me in Your arms
until the tempest calms
— then stops.
Midnight — all is quiet and still except my spirit.
My heart is heavy; weariness overwhelms me.
Where is sleep? Were is Your rest?
Your unchanging word is wisdom for my day
but I don't look there.
Your shoulders will help carry my burdens
but I keep them to myself.
Your presence gives rest
but I am seldom there.
Draw me to Your side,
Refresh my spirit.
Give an appetite to eat from the abundance of Your table;
Thirst to drink from the coolness of Your well.
In You I will will find strength to carry my Burdon.
In Your word I will find wisdom for my circumstance.
In Your presence I will find rest.
Then the night will be truly still.
