The Church Picnic
>> Tuesday, June 19, 2007
Last Sunday, our church met together with Warrenton Bible Fellowship for a combined time of worship and a huge church picnic. Though the sun was blazing, there was a great crowd for this long overdue event. Worship was fun; we even blew the breaker midway through, but that didn't stop us. Enjoying lunch and hanging out at Crockett Park all afternoon was a blast. I met several new friends, and was amazed at the genuine fellowship all around ("fellowship" as in the Greek word "koinonia" -- sharing in common, community, communication, communion, etc.). As Psalm 133 says, "How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony!" I pray that this is just the first of many such events to come. There's already talk about how we might draw in a couple of other churches for an Autumn picnic later this year!

My name is Scott Heine, and I'm on a life-long journey to become more like Jesus and to share his life-changing love with others. I'm the Pastor of Hope Christian Fellowship in Warrenton, Virginia — a great church family full of terrific people. My wife, Margo, and I have three teenage kids: Benjamin, Elizabeth, and Rebecca, along with a couple of spoiled English Springer Spaniels named Dixie & Rose.
